In toll processing, the client provides raw materials (industrial hemp biomass) to a Measured Science, we will then provide the rest of the services (toll processing & refinement). Since we already have all of the large-scale equipment, quality controls, and organizational models in place, we supply the entire manufacturing processes to the client for a fee.

Measured Science has two new machines for toll processing.

Measured Science has two new machines for toll processing, both are subzero extraction methods, the first is one of the largest Supercritical CO2 extraction machines in the world and the other the largest Cryo-Ethanol extraction machine. 

With the supercritical CO2 machine Measured Science has the capability to process around 1800 lbs of industrial hemp biomass per day.  Solvent selection is very important for applications in the food, nutraceutical, and pharmaceutical industries, where health and safety legislation place severe restrictions on the types of solvents that can be used. Supercritical CO2 is non-toxic and non-flammable, removing both the concern of toxic solvent residues in your products and of combustion/explosion during operation of the system. CO2 extracts are pure and require minimal post-processing, removing the residues of heavy metals or butane. Carbon dioxide is generally recognized as safe by the FDA and EFSA. This makes CO2 the ideal solvent for processing food and medical extracts.

The Cryo-Ethanol extraction machine unit is our large throughput, full processing system capable of processing up to 10k lbs in a 12-hour period and can run continuously to process over 9 tons (20K lbs) of biomass per day.  Unlike other large throughput systems, Niche Extraction unit processes high throughput while maintaining ultra-low temp solvent temperature, bypassing the need for Winterization. This system includes complete filtration and post process evaporation technology to yield true full spectrum crude oil and/or distillate final product. Utilizing our industry partner who specializes in cascade chilling technology, Niche Extraction unit provides a complete, turn-key extraction system capable of fully automating the extraction process at scale.
